Spray Foamox™3500 insulation is applied as a liquid but will then expand to approximately 30 times its original liquid volume and form a hard, closed cell monolithic roof surface. After it has been applied it will expand and completely dry within seconds. The result is a weather tight roofing membrane that is fully adhered to the substrate. This Polyurethane foam system will add great insulation value to the structure and will cut your costs in the long run.
Whenever the foam has been applied and checked over, a protective layer of elastomeric coating Thermo-Flex™ or gravel is also applied. This layer will mean the surface is durable and weather resistant that can be walked on for normal maintenance.

Roof Surface Preparation
In order for the spray foam to be successfully applied the substrate requires some preparation. The spray foam requires a clean, dry surface that is free of contaminants for a good application. It is often the case that a re-roofing job will involve the removal of some or the entire existing roof in order to leave a clean surface for the spray foam to be applied. Existing foam insulation systems will need to be cleaned, primed, and recoated every 10-15 years. Providing the roof has been properly maintained, a quality spray foam roof could last up to 50 years or more.
After the surface has been properly prepared the next step is for components “A” and “B” to be pumped into a specially designed proportioning machine. These two liquid components are kept apart until they are passed through the machine and applied to the substrate using the spray gun. The thickness at which the foam is applied can vary but it is typically between 1.27mm and 2.54mm. The foam is sprayed, it expands and it can be walked on in a matter of minutes.

In order to carry out the process of spray foam insulation a great deal of training, experience and a certified applicator is required. This is necessary to ensure proper mixing of the foam is being achieved along with quality workmanship and high productivity.
Foamox™3500 cannot be applied to a wet or damp substrate so it is very important that the substrate is clean and dry before application.
